What do you love about your body?

Happy Tuesday everyone! We began our day with our usual morning routines. Some students brought in more donations for our "We can share" drive! Thank you for your support! The students were busy this morning building letters out of a geoboard and pegs. Others were playing a "what's missing?" game with one another. One student removes one object from the group of materials while everyone closes their eyes. The students have to guess what is missing from the group. This is a fun challenge for the kids and they do a great job at following the rules of the game and taking turns! Some friends built in the collaboratory and others rode bikes in the gym. Since the students have enjoyed exploring jazz music, our sensory table now consists of different materials they can use to create a variety of noises! Some students were experimenting at the sensory table and made some great music and songs!

Back in the classroom, the students experimented with classroom blocks and beanbags to create catapults. Others created an art activity from our We Stories book, The Best Part of Me by Wendy Ewald. Since we shared our favorite parts of our bodies, the students drew their favorite part(s) of their bodies today and explained why they love their chosen body part. The drawings and explanations are displayed outside the classroom. Make sure to take a look at their art and inspiring words!

We ended the morning by dancing to some jazz music and playing a freeze dance game. Hopefully we will get a chance to go outside tomorrow and enjoy the sunshine!
