And sand on the light table

Some friends rode on the train in Red Room

Other friends worked with ramps in the gym

Fun in the Motor Room

During Caper Time the children explore in the motor room.  Today they explored with different materials to build towers.  They used the large ball pendulum to knock down the tower.

Playing inside the maze is always fun.  There are many openings that take you through a large maze. You are never sure where you may come out on the maze.

And what's more fun than creating a jumping machines that allows you to jump from one end to the other.

Over the course of this year, the children have evolved with their use of lines in the classroom
and how to fit those lines together to represent their ideas. Multiple conversations have taken place
regarding roller coasters and the kinds of lines that are used. Today, we introduced of provocation using a different medium of paper strips. We started with a blank canvas.

"Wild"

The story of "Wild" has evolved from the children's interest and conversations regarding space.
Children were presented balls of yarn that they began to connect with one another.

We dedicated a space in our classroom that allowed for further exploration with space on a larger scale. The children worked individually and collaboratively to create the space.

MG was even inspired to write a poem about the space.

We later added colorful ribbons to the space to see how the area would change.

We dedicated some time to move throughout the space. Some observations are below:

"Through this hole and pull. I'm still learning how to knot."
"I'm going to take this path."
"I wanted to take a long path."
"Go through that big hole."
"Step over."
"I'm in a teeny spot."
"I took shortcuts."
"Back the other way."

The children used their drawing expressions and added words to tell the feeling of the drawing. We have been talking about poems and how they are designed.  Here are a few samples of some poems the children have been working on.

Taking care of the playscape

Parts of the playscape are needing some protection. We visited the playscape to allow these
areas to be more visible by tying yarn and manipulating pipe cleaners.

We drew pictures to add to this space.
