Nature recipe in the sandbox

The children were doing lots of "cooking" in the sandbox today. Children were making cakes, cupcakes, and pies. We talked about what is a recipe and the children created a recipe of their own using ingredients that are outside. 

Nature recipe for cupcakes:

3 cups of sand

4 leaves

2 rocks

2 sticks

5 pieces of grass

3 cups of water

The cupcakes went into the oven and rocks were used as sprinkles.
