Outdoor Exploration
Today we spent time outside exploring the playscape. Our class has been really interested in making music and sounds on the outdoor xylophone. They also really enjoyed creating bridges with pieces of wood over the big rocks and balancing across them. Some of our class pretended it was a friend's birthday party under the pergola area. They decorated with different leaves they found, sang happy birthday, and made birthday cakes out of our connector blocks. It was great to see our class really using their imagination and playing together. Our class has also been really interested in finding different insects outside on the playscape. After lunch our class found a green caterpillar crawling around in the grass. They talked about how he can climb on sticks and eat leaves when he's hungry. We will continue to look for new insects out on the playscape, in the forest, and on our walks!
