Branch Set Up

Today we experimented with ways to make our branches stand.

Sound/Nature Walk

The class went on a walk to listen for interesting sounds and to investigate more into nature glue and things that are sticky. They also found some very interesting nature things: different kinds of acorns, a toad, and a very interesting plant. The students also found a plant that smelled syrupy which reminded them of their investigation about things that are sticky. 

Dance Leaves

This group chanted 'dance leaves' as the leaves fell. They thought this would help them fall faster:)

Observing changes in a tree

  

While we were looking for nature glue, one friend suggested that we 

try another tree. We began a discussion about trees: 

What do we know about trees?:

Some are fat

Big 

Some are tall

Some have leaves, some have pine needles

Small and medium

Nature glue comes from trees

Some trees fall down

Trees give you wood and paper

Different leaves

When asked if they changed, friends responded no.

 

We observed the trees today and will revisit again in a few weeks.

Sorting a collection
