First "Family Forest Friday"

 THANK YOU, from the bottom of our Birch Room Hearts!

Our first Family Forest Friday was such a wonderful success, and we truly enjoyed spending time exploring, learning, and having fun together in the forest. Your excitement about one of our favorite places made the day special for everyone.

We’d love to host more Family Forest Fridays in the future! We’ll be looking at the calendar soon to set upcoming dates and will be sure to keep you informed.

Thank you again for being part of today — we can’t wait to do it again!

(meet us at the forest around 9:30am, we will head back to school around 10:45)

🎃 Spooky Storytelling at the Foggy Bottom Pumpkin Patch 👻

This week, our classroom was filled with mystery, imagination, and just the right amount of spooky fun! Using loose parts and natural materials, our young storytellers worked together to create their very own Foggy Bottom Haunted Pumpkin Patch — a place where creativity (and a little ghostly energy!) ran wild.

Our haunted world featured:

• A foggy bottom pumpkin patch, complete with a spooky soundtrack

• A broken-down tractor blocked by pumpkin crystals

• A bone nest, watch out - if you touch these bones you will be transported to scary land!

• A haunted trail with bridges to skip over the spiders and ghosts 

• A giant green pumpkin king, standing guard over the patch 

The result was a magical mix of art, creativity, and storytelling — and a joyful reminder of how powerful loose parts play can be in helping children express ideas and emotions.

We’re so proud of our creative crew for embracing the spooky season with such enthusiasm and heart.

Caper Day

Caper Days teaches us how to play, share, and create together in different classroom environments. It’s been wonderful watching them build confidence, try new things and spaces, and connect with others through play.

As the season changes, we’ve also been celebrating fall fun — discovering the beautiful colors, exploring textures and nature materials, and creating art inspired by the season. We've even ventured in to the spooky side of the season with some spooky numbers and storytelling.

To extend our exploration, we’ve been learning about the desert — its unique plants, animals, and landscapes. The children are fascinated by how life adapts to such a different environment. We have focused in on the Fennec Fox - wait until you see our fox artwork!

We can’t wait to continue exploring, creating, and growing together as the seasons unfold!
