Tasting bananas

Before winter break, Christian and his family brought in a banana plant that 

sparked curiosity among the children not only in Green Room, but during Small Capers. 

The children talked about which bananas are their favorite- yellow, green, green & yellow, or brown. During small capers on Thursday, we taste tested bananas at their different stages of ripening. 

We even tried a new fruit- a plantain.

"That one is bigger."-CF

"When you leave them out for a long time, it gets rotted, it tastes weird." -TW

It was the night before Rainbow and all the

children were dreaming of rainbow.

There was a yellow banana.

A red apple.

An orange sun.

A black wheel.

A blue marker.

A green stop light.

A brown bear.

A purple grape.

A pink flower.

That is what makes a rainbow.

Book Making

The children have extended their learning of communicating to each other through making books and telling a story. The children have been learning about the parts of a book like the title page, author,

illustrator and adding words for people to read.  Here is a book about snow.

Clean Mud

  First we shred the soap using a grater. We talked about safe while using 

      these tools. Independence!!

              Then we tore up tissue.

We added some water and began to mix it altogether.

            Now we play!! What a great way to keep us all healthy!!
