Measuring the structures

During a class discussion about the strength of structures, some 

children shared ideas about forms of measurement. 

Some thoughts emerged from the conversation and are seen below:

         Could one be too heavy??

    That one is made out of blocks. 

   I think it might knock down some, but not all of it. 

       How tall are the structures? 

A small group of children helped to classify the buildings by size:

                            Big- 6 

                     Medium - 3

                              Small -4

Popcorn Machine!!

After weeks of planning, we finally built the popcorn machine! We are planning on letting Blue Room use it for their bakery:)

          Our dear friend, Mr. Johnny, is leaving AFC to work at another school in our 

        district so we took some time to celebrate him and wish him well. 

  Each classroom contributed drawings on a flag for him

   so he will always remember us. 

Thank you for everything Mr. Johnny. You will be missed!!

A Birthday Baby

Lily wanted a baby doll for her birthday celebration. She used the sewing machine to make the head and body, string for hair, and loose materials for the arms, hands, legs, and feet. What a wonderful treat!!
