Friday Explorations

Good afternoon! Today we enjoyed creating our own colors with cups of water with liquid watercolors in them and small pipettes. They explored with what colors they could make out of yellow, blue, red, and purple water. One of the students said "I mixed together blue and yellow and I made green!" When we went out to the playscape some of the class asked if I could trace them on the sidewalk. They added details to their outline such as a face, their clothes, hands, and shoes. We also brought our new nature journals outside to draw what we saw on the playscape. Before we took turns drawing we looked around to see what we could discover. One friend from an earth worm to draw and other friends drew flowers and insects. We will continue to work in our nature journals in the next few weeks and bring them home at the end of the school year. Have a great evening!

We had a building challenge in the classroom with a partner. Some friends built with Legos of different sized blocks. We wanted to see how tall of a tower each group could build!
