We began our morning by playing with play-doh, sorting materials, and measuring objects around the room! We later bundled up and went to visit our great forest! They were very eager to get there and enjoyed running around the paths and collecting trash. Several students played "bear hunt" and others found a rabbit! They were very busy chasing after the rabbit. Other students went on treasure hunts and built forts with sticks. While walking back from the forest, we had a group of students counting to 100 and they got pretty far on their own!
Once we returned back to the classroom, we read some books. One book we read was a "We Story" book. Since it was a longer book, we did a picture walk through the story. The children described what they were seeing and shared what they thought was happening in the story. They shared how the story was about a little boy moving to America and making friends at his new school and wanting to play soccer.
