Self Portraits

What makes you, you?

Today we worked on line drawings, of ourselves! Throughout the year we take a look in the mirror and draw what we see. Drawing self-portraits can benefit children by helping them develop self-awareness, explore their identity, express emotions, enhance small motor skills, build confidence and understand their own unique features. All of this while fostering creativity and critical thinking abilities. It is always interesting to observe what each child sees, what they draw as their focus.

For some, it is their strong muscles. Others, their big listening ears. Some friends even thought their belly button was their most important part.

Doing these self portraits progress through the year is a joy. Watching each student grow and learn through self discovery and self portraits is always rewarding.
