Water beads and designs

Hello and welcome back from the weekend! We hope you enjoyed the beautiful weather. The Birch room began the morning outside to try and beat the rain, and we sure did! The students ran around to burn off some energy. They were digging, trying to find worms, imaginary playing, swinging on the cloth swing and visiting Mr. Sail on the hillside.

We continued the morning by dividing up into small groups. Some friends went to the gym with Ms. Brittany while others participated in making choices in the classroom. There were several choices to design things today! A few students completed "nature puzzles" at the art table with loose parts. These puzzles consisted of a variety of shapes drawn on a big piece of paper and used rocks and small flat marbles to make the shapes.

The students were given a special challenge at the light table: "Build how you are feeling." Two mirrors were placed at the light table to assist students in observing the emotion they wished to portray in their building. Other friends built people out of shapes.

A group of students built a McDonald's restaurant out of classroom blocks. They had a "generator" for the electricity and created menus!

They enjoyed walking around the classroom, asking their friends and teachers for their orders! Enjoy the rest of your day!
