A Tree for Ms. Lisa

What do you do to celebrate a birthday in your home?

Do you eat cake? Do you sing a special song? Does the Birthday Fox come to visit?

We had our first Birch Room Birthday today and we had a meeting to find the best way to celebrate Ms. Lisa.

Ms. Lisa loves to work together, Ms. Lisa loves to paint, Ms. Lisa loves to be in nature. After many suggestions and a serious brainstorming session we came up with a beautiful birthday bash!

We are going for a nature walk and then working together to make a classroom painting!

To start the day we went for a tree walk throughout Webster. Everyone was so inspired and asked many wonderful questions.

How old is this tree?

How tall is a tree?

Is it taller than me?!

I am taller than this one!

Look this monkey tree has green nanas!

Which tree is the oldest?

How does a tree feel?

I have two red leaves. They feel soft.

 Am I taller or smaller?!

One of Ms. Lisa's favorite things is to be in nature, surrounded by trees. How lucky are we that we stumbled upon a discarded tree. We took it back to school, gave it a new home with soil and water. We cannot wait to watch it grow! There are so many ways we can learn while loving and caring for our new tree.

Happy Birthday Ms. Lisa, we hope you love your birthday tree.

As your student's birthday approaches we will have a meeting to decide how they would like to celebrate their special day!
