It was a wonderful first day, full of fun and learning new routines. This class family is full of curiosity and wonder, we cannot wait to see where the year goes.
The first week of school will always be full of learning the new ways of a new space, even our returning Birch friends worked through some new experiences.
We worked hard today, expect some very sleepy preschoolers tonight!
We built a house!
Teamwork makes the dreamwork, or the ball roll faster. :)
A few reminders:
If you did not bring one, each student will need a crib sheet for their cot. Please let us know if you do not have one and need help finding one.
Please send in a 4x6 unframed family photo.
If you want us to apply sunscreen and bug spray in the afternoon, please send a bottle of each (labeled with their name).
We brush teeth after snack each day (per licensing). If you need assistance, we have extra toothbrushes at school.
Goodbyes can be hard, for all of us. Here are a few tricks to make that transition easier.
- Make your goodbye quick.
- Have a tradition or routine you do each day. Make sure your routine has three or less parts. For example; take a breath, give a hug/high-five, say goodbye. Repeating that each day allows the brain to prepare for goodbye.
- Have faith that the tears don't last. It is so hard to leave when your student is sad, and we are excellent huggers/snugglers/tear wipers.
- 3-5 year olds are expert emotion readers. When you leave with excitement and happiness on your face, they feel that and share in your happiness.
Wishing you well. We cannot wait for tomorrow!
