Caper Day

In Birch Room today we worked on building a city with magnetic blocks and our wooden blocks.  The students started building on their own, but quickly realized that working together to build was much easier.

"Can you see me?"
"Yes! I see you?"

These boys continued this game of "Can you see me?" for quite some time.  They would change positions, move back and scoot forward.  Friends noticed their excitement and wanted to join in the fun.

"Look! You can see through this! It's like a tunnel"

"This is a bulldozer.  It pushes the bricks over."

We also worked on book making.  The children were asked "How can you tell a story about yourself?"

"This is me sitting at my house"

We have noticed that by having the book pages premade and "special book pens" the students are much more intentional and purposeful with their drawings and writings.
