Forest Fun

Before venturing into the forest today we went out into the hallway to put on boots.  We weren't sure how muddy the forest was going to be, but we didn't want to miss this "warmer" day.  The kids were so excited to put on the boots! It was like a big shoe store.  They had to take off their shoes then find the boots that fit them.  First most kids gravitated towards boots that had designs they liked.  Some quickly realized they were either too big or too little for them. To see if the boots fit a few students measured their foot up against the boot.  "It's the same. It fits!"  "My foots bigger. Too small"  "I think it will work"  Other kids looked at the number on the boots.  "I need a size 4. I'm 4"  "I have a ten" It took some trial and error, but eventually everyone had boots to wear! They were responsible for placing their shoes along the wall so our hallway was still clear.

In the forest today many friends enjoyed finding sticks to swing or "cut down" plants and trees.  Others climb trees and limbs. With most of the leaves on the ground it is a lot easier for the kids to climb and maneuver the large fallen tree branches.

"I'm stuck in a spider web!"
