We revisited our work that we started before spring break. We have shared with you some drawings of places why places in Webster Groves are special to us. We offered a book as a provocation filled with places in St. Louis. As soon as we opened it, we discovered a map and began to look up some places that are found in St. Louis.
Some of the conversation can be seen below:
"I go to the Botanical Gardens, there are lots of trees there."- LG
Busch Stadium: "They play baseball, there is Fredbird, and you eat things too." - CS
Scottrade Center: "They also play hockey. I was at the very top."-PW
"There is an organ there." - RJ
City Museum: "The school bus is on top of the museum." - JE
"My dad and brother went on the bridge." - PW
The Science Center: "They have stars up on the roof."- CS
Omnimax: "I saw one about animals and whale sharks."-
We will continue these conversations and begin representing these ideas using the language of paint.
Some areas in the classroom have changed and one of the children made the following observation:
