Beautiful day!

The Birch room has had a busy day! We began the morning by playing with play-dough. Several friends cooked the teachers pizzas, pepperonis, and pancakes! Other friends built bridges with the trains and created people and spinning toys out of the "plus plus" toys. 

Later in the morning, we went on a walk. We walked to a house in the neighborhood (the students call it the "gingerbread house") and observed the progress and changes they have made to the house. Somes students remembered how a little over a month ago, the construction workers were building the garage and how the garage looked like wood. Today, we noticed how the garage is almost finished and that they painted the house a new color! The class continued the walk around the neighborhood and enjoyed the sunshine. 

We decided to stop and play at the top of the forest. Students made a stick pile for a firepit while others climbed trees and searched for bugs. 

Two friends found rocks and started to rub the rock against the brick columns. They discovered markings that the rocks created while rubbing them along the brick and called them "magical rocks." 

After this exciting discovery, the decided to rub the rocks against the stone on the ground. The students discovered even more markings and said there was a "secret code in the ground." Will we return to the top of the forest to crack the code? Stay tuned for more Birch adventures!
