We began our morning by having a quick meeting. Since it was suppose to rain, the class agreed to go and play outside before the rain came. Some students practiced walking across the slackline. Their balancing skills are really improving and a lot of students can walk all the way across the line! One students brought in a worm container to house his worms he has been finding. This motivated other students to find their own worms. We quickly ran inside because of the rain and had to put or worm hunting on hold.
The students built in the classroom, experimented in the sensory table, sorted blocks by color, and painted pictures of a bird to create a collage of our art. The sun came back out and dried up a good amount of the rain so we decided to continue our play outside. Some students immediately continued digging for worms. A few students found rollie pollies, too! Some of the worms were returned to their homes while others were collected and placed into the worm container. Maybe they are saving the worms for the birds? We will have to wait and see!
