New blocks? Alright!

Happy Wednesday! We have completed a lot of building today. We began our Wednesday by playing in the classroom. Some students continued to work on the bird art piece at the art table. A group of children went to build and exercise in the collaboratory.

 

 

 

Other friends built with loose parts and helped construct our new blocks! We received some colorful blocks from our Magnolia friends! Some students worked on writing "thank you" notes to Magnolia. Other students we worked together on folding them and finding a home for them on our shelves. After completing our block project, the students were very excited to put them to use! They built a "waterpark" with the blocks and play people. They used loose parts to sell candy and ice cream while you visited the park! The blocks were a huge hit today and they were put to good use! We continued the morning by outside and completing some puzzles. Ms. Gayle read two books about the "three little bears" and the students compared and contrasted the two storylines. One story was the classic fairytale while the other had a twist to the story! The other story was about a bear going into a family's house! They noticed a lot of differences, especially in the illustrations. They enjoyed a cheesy grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. A lot of friends were sleepy this morning so hopefully they will take some good naps!
