Family Friday

Good afternoon! Today we celebrated Family Friday in the Birch room by drawing our own family pictures with oil pastels. Our class used their framed family photos that we have in the classroom to draw each of their family members. During our morning meeting we shared the art we made with our families at home. After showing the class and telling them about what they created they asked the class if they had any questions and answered as many as they could. It was great to learn more about each other and our families!

On the playscape we discovered a small birds nest in the tree. We saw the mama bird and baby birds in the nest! We wondered where the dad bird went and some of the class wondered if he was looking for food to feed the baby birds. We also took a neighborhood shape walk today. We used our eagle eyes to look out for different shapes in the neighborhood. Some of the shapes we noticed were hearts, circles, rectangles, squares, hexagons, diamonds, and ovals. Ask your child what shapes they saw on our walk today! Have a great weekend!
