Over the last few weeks we have heard lots of words, words that are helping us remember how to be the best Birch Room we can be. Today, during meeting, we put on thinking caps and turned them up WAY UP HIGH. We worked our brains to create a list of words that describe what it means to be in the Birch Room. It was a list of ways to be kind, to take care of others, to make sure our room is safe.
How do we show kindness?
What do you call it when you put your toys away safely?
Can you help your toys?
Is getting a teacher to help sticking together?
What does it mean to be a Birch Room Friend?
Once we all agreed on the list of words and went over 2 or 3 times, it was time to write them down. Posting our agreements not only gives students ownership over them, but it allows us to look and see our agreements, before we need a teacher reminder. Writing down our agreements allows us to help each other remember as well.
JG shared some phrases he says at home to help his family remember how to be safe and kind. We decided they were so perfect, we made more signs to share. Today we have practiced saying these phrases anytime we need to focus. Thank you JG for sharing your family's special sayings.
