Today in Birch we made new spaces that focused on our classrooms interests and developed new ideas with different materials in our classroom.
We noticed that Birch Room really likes to bake and create all kinds of foods!

We mixed vegetable oil, flour, and sprinkles to create a dough!
What does it smell like? What can you bake using the dough we made?
Last week we noticed shadows and lights. What happens when you place objects in front of light? Are your shadows big or small? What color is your shadow?
We asked the question "What Can You Build With Light?"
We noticed different colored shadows and created structures for our shadows.
SS and JG noticed that when you create a color shadow and place a different color block in the light it creates a new colorful shadow!
How Do You Feel?
Every morning during meeting we check in by showing how we feel with our thumbs.
Thumbs up is you're feeling good.
Thumbs down is you're feeling bad.
Thumbs in the middle means you're feeling a little bit of both.
When you look in the mirror how do you feel? What do you notice? How can you show me with pictures or words?
Can You Build With Rainbows?
Today some students made patterns and "dominoes" out of rainbows! I wonder what else we can build with rainbows?
