Welcome back!

Good afternoon and welcome back! The students came in this morning full of energy, excited to see their friends, tell stories about their break, and show off some new toys and shoes to the class! We began our morning by reviewing our classroom rules and routines. We have a new friend in our class! We are very excited to meet him and glad he is in our wonderful classroom.

We ended our morning meeting by practicing our rhyming. We played a rhyming game with our snail puppet. The students made choices in our classroom and were very excited to experiment and build with our new light table toys. Other friends were happy to be back at the art center and were very busy drawing. Some students drew pictures of activities they did on winter break. A group of Birch friends went to the collaboratory and built different structures, danced with fabric and worked out with weighted balls and kettlebells.

In the classroom, some children built with blocks and played with kinetic sand. We later went to the tinker room where the students explored new invitations. There was weaving with ribbons or pins with thread.  We explored how to use new materials on the mirrored table and revisited hammering nails.

We ended our morning by doing a pokemon yoga exercise. We are so happy to see all of the kids!
