We enjoyed some painting with dobbers.
On the light table the students made a rainbow castle cake. Notice how the gems are matched with their colored cups.
With the blocks students created a candy machine. The candy goes through the "pipes" and down the shoot.
We also had colored water and eye droppers to explore. I quickly realized the students were not interested in color mixing but more into dumping and pouring the water.
I watched the students scoop up the shallow water into a square container which was stacked on top of another square container. Once there was two or three scoops of water in the top container, they lifted it up and then dumped it into the bottom container. It took them many scoops to fill the container.
They noticed the top container floating on the surface of the water. Each dump into the bottom container they watched as it got fuller and fuller. Once it was full they excitedly pushed the top container down and the water spewed over. They were so excited! "Its like a waterfall!" They continued this process many times taking turns who got to the "pusher" Enjoy the video below of the process.
