"W" is for....

 Today is Walking Wednesday!  But it was SO much more than that!

It was a birthday!  We have another 4 year old.  Happy Birthday GC!

   

W is for "weather"  We had a severe weather drill and practiced what we do if the weather outdoors is not safe.  This is what we do and where we go to keep ourselves safe in severe weather.
   

We always begin our days with signing in and open, undirected play.  Our relocated small world now has 2 opportunities to create homes.  We talk often about our environment being the third teacher and how we give such attention to how we arrange our spaces.  Lighting, positioning, and location of our invitations all play a part in creating spaces that are attractive to our Birch friends.  The relocated small world seems to be the perfect spot to spark new play.

JI, you spent so much time here today.  You created an amazing home with very special rooms.

"There are the beds.  There is one baby, no other kids and the mommy and daddy sleep with the baby.  And this is the dance room with the stage!" JI

AD and CW you created an amazing home in our nature small world.  There were beds and rooms here too!

W is for Walking and WOW!

As we headed out on our walk today we came across something amazing!  It was on the curb and your teachers instantly knew it was something we needed.

"Can I push it back?" CF

Absolutely!

W is for work!

We pushed it ALL the way back to school and your teachers got it all cleaned and disinfected.   Then we put our plan in place.
