We began the morning by making choices in the classroom. Students enjoyed building with blocks and creating houses for play people. Other friends built with plus plus blocks and completed a 100 piece shark puzzle. Some students watched a different live bird camera which was taking place up in Canada! There was snow on the ground and we watched birds visit the snowy bird feeder.
A group of friends created bridges and tunnels using blocks and a train track! They were so proud of their hard work and the class decided to leave their creation up all throughout our morning.
Ms. Susie placed some paint, cotton balls and clothespins in the art area. The students began experimenting with these materials by picking up the cotton balls, dipping them into the paint and creating paintings on the big piece of paper.
The students became curious about the feeling of the paint and how it would look on their skin. Before we knew it, the students began painting their hands and arms a variety of colors! They had so much fun doing this activity and enjoyed experimenting with the paint!
Later on, we exercised and played in the gym. Some students built with magnet frames with other created tracks with colorful connector toys. Kids took turns riding bikes while others climbed on the climbing wall.
A group of students adventured down to the collaboratory where we played with some Spruce friends! They were very excited to play with our new "snowscape" which consists of tiny
materials for the children to design and imaginary play with students from other classes.
