We began the morning by greeting one another and making choices in the classroom. Students built bridges and tracks with blocks and trains and designed shapes with loose parts. Other friends built with magnets, colored/experimented with chalk and imaginary played in the sensory table. Take a look at some of their hard work!
The Birch teachers have noticed that the students are interested in playing house and imaginary play with each other and/or classroom materials and toy people. We decided to change some areas in our classroom in order to create a space for imaginary play. The students were very helpful with making these changes happen and they are very excited! Some spaces are still "under construction" and they are eager to use them soon. Make sure to take a look at our new classroom spaces at drop-off and pick-up!
We ended our morning by taking a trip to Straubs to buy some butter and buttermilk in order to bake our biscuits to pair with our delicious raspberry jam! The students did a great job at using our eyes (rather than our hands) to see all of the yummy treats while we were in the grocery store. We will be baking our biscuits with Ms. Katie soon!
