Pajama Day

Happy Friday! Today we enjoyed listening to a holiday story read by grandma Marty on the projector. The class even got to sing "Jingle Bells" along with her! Since today was fort building day we went outside and used the big blue blocks to help us build our own fort! Some of the class worked on a big fort for everyone to go in and some of the class made a rocket ship! It took a lot of time to get our fort just right but when we did everyone got a chance to go inside and play. We had a blast exploring and building with these new blocks outside. We hope that everyone has a safe and fun winter break and we will see you all on January 5th!

Movie Day

Good afternoon! Today we tried out new materials in our classroom called water beads! Our class wasn't sure what would happen to the tiny beads when we added water to them. We observed the water beads and some of of class noticed they were getting bigger! We kept playing and waited a while to see if they would grow again and they did. Everyone enjoyed scooping and pouring the water beads with small cups and funnels. On the hillside our class enjoyed playing soccer and catch with the kickball. Before lunch we relaxed and watched The Snowy Day movie. Ask your child about their favorite part of today!

Show and Share

Today students eagerly showed and shared an item from home. Some students picked stuffed animals and some brought books.  T. brought a pair of walkie-talkies and showed everyone how they worked.  B. brought a book with pictures of his family and read the book to the class.  F. brought some spidermans and showed us their super powers.  We enjoyed seeing the students' excitement about  presenting their items to the class. We also went to the forest and discovered new hiding spots! Ask your child which item they enjoyed the most.

“This is so fun!” -B.

“Are you ready to find a new hideout?” -A.

Walking Water Science Experiment

Good afternoon! Today we tried a new science experiment called the walking water experiment! First we placed out five small clear cups (every other cup full of water) and added food coloring to the cups with water. We placed paper towels folded in half going from one cup to the next. Here are some things that our class noticed during our science experiment:
"This cup has red water!" -F
"This one is yellow!" -T
"This cup has blue water!" -B
"The water is going into the paper towels!" -A
"Look! The blue is going up high!" -M.Y.
"The yellow one is going up too!" -S
"I see the colors walking on the paper towels! Now there's orange and green!" -M.S.
Ask your child about our science experiment and what happened after we let the water sit for a while. We also enjoyed having hot chocolate with mini marshmallows and mini candy canes today! Have a great evening!

Friday Fun

Happy Friday! Outside we explored the cave area of the playscape. Everyone enjoyed jumping off the cave and going inside the cave. Some friends found a big tube and created a rock slide on the cave that everyone could use. Some of our class pretended to make snow angels in the rocks and played a pet shop game. We also celebrated our friend T's 4th birthday today and made him a birthday canvas to hang in the classroom. He told the class he liked superhero's so they decorated it with tons of superhero drawings and lots of different colors. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
