Last Walk Day

Today we went on our last walk! Children were VERY excited to get to walk through downtown Webster. They were so excited to see that the construction was still happening and that the parking lot had been paved.

We began our morning playing outside...

Then, we brought small groups of students inside to bake cookies with Miss Danielle.

A couple weeks ago the students brainstormed ideas of what to make for Miss Danielle to say thank you for all that she has done to help in the Birch room. The students decided to draw self portraits to help her remember them.

We will miss you, Miss Danielle!

Our Last Forest Day

We had a wonderful last forest day!

Then, we ended our morning with a pizza picnic!

Exploring in the Mud Kitchen

 

S - I found where the ants are coming from! It’s these holes.
R - I know, I know! The ants are going up through the hole!
S - We need flashlights.
M - Yes, that will be better!
L - There are too many holes here. That’s why they keep getting in.
M - We found a baby tarantula. It might go in our classroom so we need to check it out.
S - We caught him!!!
R - He keeps jumping!!!
S - OMG he’s dead.

S - I made a worm slide.
R - I’m trying to find a worm.
M - The worm I found was dead, ugh.

F - We found an earthworm! And a baby guy.
M - It’s pooping.
R - Oh yeah, definitely pooping.

C - Come see our bridge!!
A - We are able to stand in the mud because of our bridge.
J - Yeah, we have magic shoes.
C - The three best buddies!!
J - Yeah we are!

F - What is this?
Miss Brooke - What do you think? I’m not sure.
F - It’s a chrysalis.
Miss Brooke - Wow interesting. Look at them all over the tree.
F - Yeah, it’s definitely a chrysalis.
(Goes to crack it open)
F - Definitely not a chrysalis. It’s got a different goo inside.
