This morning was one of those beautiful, peaceful mornings that teachers adore. We were able to sit among the students and really LISTEN to their work, to observe, to question, and just to be present.
The block area was a place of families, babies, and doctor's offices. With all of the illnesses in the building it is easy to see that play imitates life!
"Hello, Dr's office..."
"Ms L, this is my baby. Do you want to hold her?" JI
"This is the machine that checks your head. You put your head in like this." HW
GC you discovered this tiny piece of wire and began creating teeny tiny sculptures! I love the way your brain was working today!
JA and JL you were the sweetest of buddies today! You worked together creating the best stories! You were building a structure and then becoming the characters, moving them all about,up and down.
Then I heard "Let's build the Polar Express!" JA
I can tell this is a movie you adore, JL!
We have heard lots of talk about special treats that are being made in some of your homes. We decided to create a special graham cracker cookie treat! Our friends got to ice and decorate their own graham crackers. SO yummy to have a special winter break treat!
"Sparkle is my favorite color." GC
Our entire school got to go to the movies today! One of our favorite wordless books, is also a wordless video! It is a magical video that everyone loves. What a special treat to get to have a fun winter movie!
"Do you know what's special about snowmans? They are made of snow and magic!" EM
"It's a snowman party!" RM
Here is a link to the video if you would like to watch it with your family.
Our last bit of winter fun was to decorate bags!
"What are the bags for?"
"Can we take them home?"
It's a SURPRISE!
