Today's Think about it Thursday question was inspired by the noticings of a friend from our walk yesterday. MT you noticed lots of bees as we passed so many flowers. As conversation flowed back and forth you asked, "Where do bees sleep at night?" Your teachers thought that was an amazing question and we wondered alongside you. Since we were walking, not many friends heard your question so we decided to save it and share it with everyone!
Where Do Bees Sleep at Night?
These gorgeous days make us extra thankful for our amazing learning spaces and the focus on outdoor learning. Thursdays are Caper days for us with our friends from Sycamore and Magnolia. Today we opened up the door to the playscape through Magnolia and took our invitations outdoors. We invited our partner classrooms to share in our learning, and we got to share in theirs. It was a magical day that made this teacher sit and smile.
We thoughtfully placed our Think About it Thursday question amongst a patch of dandelions. I wonder why we thought to place it there?
It didn't take our friends long to discover our reasons!
There were bees flying amongst us as we sat and observed. It was a time to sit and observe and realize that these tiny creatures are working in amazing ways! They are buzzing, fluffy, and even cute!!
These two sweet friends spent a LOT of time soaking in the wonder of nature today. We sat and noticed the bees flying close, and then we did what we do best at Ambrose. We zoomed in. And the true magic began.
As much as this teacher wanted to spend her ENTIRE day sitting amongst the bees and the sunshine, there was magic happening all around us!
Ms N sparked our friend's creations by making her own insect, a cub-a-pillar!
"It's a slug box. A box, that looks like a slug that you put slugs in!"
"Look at my worm!" AS
This friend created her insect and then took it a step further by making it a hat and gloves!
"It's a pile of spaghetti and my dog Meatball is the meatball!!!!!!" RM
It was a wonderful, magical day.
