Our kindness gems are beginning to fill our beautiful branch. They glimmer and shine and are a great reminder of the ways in which we care for others in our spaces.
But, is kindness something we extend only to those in our classroom?
Is kindness something strictly for people, or can we be kind to "things" too?
Absolutely! We have talked at great lengths about showing kindness to
one another
our classroom materials
our environment
our community
nature.
As teachers we have become more intentional in our efforts towards recognizing the kindness that occur.
We were excited to hear about this group of friends who were kind, not in our classroom, but out in our community this week.
They were so kind and respectful that another adult commented on it, and then it was shared with your teachers.
We couldn't let such great kindness go unnoticed so they ALL got a gem today!
After our morning meeting was over, our kindnesses just kept rolling along!
LB, you helped care for our classroom space by picking up materials that often go forgotten on the floor.
Your teachers are wondering how we might continue to remember what each of these amazing kindness gems were for.
Stay tuned, as we just know our Birch friends will have some more amazing ideas!
On a related note, the Birch room would love to have more wire to continue creating both our kindness gems, and our art cube. If you are able to donate any spools of wire we would be thankful for YOUR kindness.. And who knows, we may even let you put a kindness gem on!
